An insidious trait that humans have developed through the ages is based around our egoic thoughts of self-worth.
We pollute our mindset through judgement and comparison, and then suffer the consequences through a physical and emotional reactive process.
Undoubtedly, the advent of social media has created a huge environment in which we can readily compare ourselves and our lifestyles against the rest of the world, usually to our detriment.
Our houses, work, cars, body shape, clothes, vacations, abilities, relationships etc never seem to measure up with that of the millions of others posting daily. This in turn creates a spiraling process of depressive and anxious thought where our feelings of self-worth plummet. We suffer through allowing a darkness to envelop us and we become blinded to the understanding that this was completely self-created.
Step outside those thoughts for a moment and look back at the path you have just travelled to reach this world of sufferance and you will realise how futile it was to allow yourself to undertake this destructive journey in the first place. Why do we inflict such pain upon ourselves?
It’s time to make a pact with yourself to change the way you allow yourself to be punished by your mindless thoughts and instead choose to take charge of your thinking. You have the power to control your mind through remaining alert to your negative thoughts, resetting, and moving back into the brightness of positivity.
This is a learning process, and it is completely achievable once you decide you are done with suffering.
Raise your self-esteem by realising you are unique in this world and that you are as strong and as beautiful as every other unique individual on this planet.
